About Chef Nick Curtola

Originally from the Bay Area in California, Curtola found his way to New York City after cooking in Copenhagen and Italy. Before becoming the head and opening chef of the Brooklyn restaurant The Four Horsemen in 2015, Curtola held positions at the Bay area restaurant Camino, and the pioneering Brooklyn restaurant Franny’s.

Curtola’s accolades at The Four Horsemen include a Michelin star, held since 2019, a two-star review from The New York Times, as well as semi-finalist nominations for James Beard Award for Best Chef New York, and Outstanding Restaurant. In 2025, The Four Horsemen was named #15 on North America’s 50 Best Restaurants list.

Curtola published the cookbook, “The Four Horsemen: Food + Wine for Good Times,” in 2025. Last year, Curtola and the team opened a second restaurant, I Cavallini across the street from The Four Horsemen.
